In this workshop join Fiona from Camban Studio, where over the course of two days you will be immersed in the natural dying process and the magical world of colour.
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the steps required to source & extract colour naturally & apply these to textiles. While our dye pots work their magic we’ll also explore colour theory and how you can create your own successful colour palettes that can be used for any artistic or creative project. On the second day we will continue by exploring mono-printing using our dyed textiles as our starting point.
You will leave with a natural dye journal full of samples.
Together we will cover the techniques of the natural dye process & look at:
How to prepare fibre for natural dyeing
How to make colour bind & fix to your fabric
How to source natural colour & the best sources to use
How to prepare plants for the dye bath
