Welcome to Purple Heron’s Upholstery Upcycling Workshop

A one-day introductory course where you will upholster a dining chair with a drop-in-seat, paint, stain or embellish the frame, then be able to keep the chair where it can have pride of place in your home.

Learn the basics in upholstering a chair: stripping off the old upholstery, replacing the foam or using a sustainable foam alternative, as well as painting, staining or embellishing the chair to your own original design.

All materials are provided for you: chair, use of upholstery tools and paint brushes, selected fabric, paint and varnish.

The course is aimed at complete beginners or those looking to upcycle dated furniture.
